Pray for Cuba, land of mission and hope
Cuba is a wounded land: growing poverty, massive emigration, weakened institutions, and disoriented youth. Daily life is often marked by scarcity and uncertainty. Yet, in the heart of this challenging reality, the Church continues to proclaim Christ and serve the smallest, a quiet sign of God’s faithfulness who never abandons His people.
That is why we need your prayers.
Pray for the Cuban people, that they may regain confidence in their future and courage in times of trial.
Pray for the youth, often without prospects, that they may find in God a sense of purpose for their lives.
Pray for the Church in Cuba, poor and persevering, that it may remain a light and a source of comfort.
Pray for the missionaries, that they may be joyful witnesses of Christ amid difficulties.
By entrusting Cuba to the Virgin of Charity, the country’s patroness, we believe that hope can flourish once again.
Your prayer is the invisible breath that sustains our mission and allows the Gospel to bear fruit.
Prayer composed by the bishops of Cuba, recited every Sunday:
O God, for whom nothing is impossible, today we present ourselves before You.
You know that our dear homeland is going through very difficult times,
and that the Cuban people suffer, weep, and lack the essentials.
We need Your help, Your comfort, and Your strength!
Alone, we cannot find paths
of harmony and fraternal coexistence.
We need Your Holy Spirit
to help us in these efforts
and to guide us toward wise and true solutions
to the grave and urgent problems that afflict us as a people,
so that our living conditions may change
and we may find happiness in our land.
Hear, O Holy Father,
the prayers of the Most Holy Virgin of Charity,
Mother of Jesus Christ and of all Cubans,
for her children.
Also, be attentive to the prayers of this people who implore You,
placing all their hope in You.
